The spooky season is upon us, so on my blog I made a map of Guelph's best Halloween displays with step-by-step driving instructions on where to find them. The whole route might take you a couple of hours to complete (longer, if you are walking 😊). Your weekend plans are now sorted!
As you drive around taking in these displays, I ask you to reflect on these questions:
Why do so many families spend so much time, effort and resources on putting up these awesome displays year after year? (Spoiler: Many families tell me that they enjoy using their goofy hoobies and interests to bring cheer and joy to people in their community.)
How will you show appreciation for people using their goofy hobbies to spread cheer and joy in our community? (eg: send the families on this map a postcard or leave them a little note thanking them for their efforts)
How can you use your own goofy hobbies to bring cheer and joy to your community? (eg: I make maps! 😊)
What is the smallest thing that you can do today and do consistently to encorage more people to spread cheer and joy via their own goofy hobbies?
How can you use this ‘guided tour’ of halloween displays to deepen your own sense of belonging with the place you now call home? (eg: reconnect with an old friend or make new ones, give someone a ride and take them along with you for the drive.)
I am curious what you think so please respond via email or leave a comment.
My daughter loved all the displays. It was such a nice way to spend a cold dreary afternoon.
I cant wait to take my kids on this route this weekend. You are truly amazing for everything you have done for guelph and bringing our families together and have fun!
