What is your favorite park in Guelph? And why?
Send me your nominations via email or leave a comment, and I will enter them into a ‘Parks Madness’ voting bracket so we can - once and for all - determine what Guelph’s “best” park is.
There’s at least 125 parks maintained by the City of Guelph alone, not including the popular Arboretum (managed by U of Guelph) or the Pollinator Park (managed by Pollination Guelph), among others. Here’s a handy map and a list, click on the image to download a high quality PDF you can print off at home:
Here’s one of my favorites - the little known Kimberley Park - with a bench smack in front of a tree so you can rest for a while and contemplate its quiet majesty.
What is your own favorite park and why? Let me know!
My favourite park is Riverside Park. It's big enough to include a variety of offerings: the river, birds and animals, big grassy areas, picnic areas, gardens, the playground equipment, the carousel, the mini-train, and the huge community area where big public events are held with ample parking. You can find quiet, riverside trails or join in with others at community-building events at all times of the year. My family and friends have enjoyed picnics, special celebrations, fireworks, and Christmas lights all at Riverside Park.
